In tandem with Art Basel Miami Beach’s announcement, VOLTA Miami has made the decision to postpone its launch to December 2021. VOLTA stated that it remains committed to the expansion, drawing upon PULSE’s robust exhibitor and collector base, coupled with VOLTA’s international foundation and energy, to make an exciting and thoughtful mark on the Miami art scene.
“Miami has been particularly hard hit by Covid-19, and while we understand how important these public events are in engaging the public with leading and compelling contemporary artistic voices, at the present time we feel we cannot guarantee the fair that you all deserve. Increasing rates of infection elsewhere in the United States as well as new travel restrictions add to this uncertainty,” the company said in a statement.
The VOLTA team plans to direct its energies into growing and strengthening the VOLTA brand and preparing for the editions in 2021.
